About Shortlist
Shortlist was built by a student who got tired of tracking applications in a messy spreadsheet and never knowing whether a resume would get past an applicant tracking system (ATS). So it became a tool that does both, for free.
What you can do
- ATS resume checker: paste a resume and a job post and get a 0–100 match score, the keywords you are missing, and a clear answer on whether to apply.
- Application board: move each role through Saved, Applied, Interview and Offer, with deadlines and interview dates highlighted.
- Resume builder: fill in a form and download a clean, one-column PDF that ATS systems can read.
- Cover letter and interview prep: draft a cover letter for a saved role and practise common interview questions for your field.
How the ATS score works
65% of the score comes from how many of the job post’s key terms appear in your resume. 35% comes from format checks such as contact details, sections, length, bullet points and measurable results. It is a guide to improve your resume, not a guarantee of how any company’s system will rank you.
